HistoryJon has worked as an Osteopath continually for over thirty five years having graduated in 1983 from the British School of Osteopathy in London. He spent his first few years working in a busy practice in southern England before emigrating to Australia in 1986. In 1988 Jon started his own practice in Ferntree Gully which he has run as the principal ever since. He also increased his involvement in teaching at this time with an emphasis on clinical education. In 1995 Jon moved to Victoria University where a new osteopathic graduate program had just started. He has taught there since this time and now spends one full day per week at the university. Jon not only works supervising the students in clinic as a clinical tutor but also lectures in a number of subjects including osteopathic care during pregnancy and management of older patients. He also teaches advanced manipulation techniques and has participated in many Master’s degree research studies including two studies on the osteopathic treatment of Meniere’s Disease. Besides his interest in education, Jon is a keen cyclist, both road and mountain biking as well as dancing.
