Dry Needling

Dry needling uses fine, single use filament needles that are also used in acupuncture.

The needles are inserted into muscle fibres identified as trigger points. The needling process triggers a twitch response from the muscle. Following the twitch response, the muscle fibres in the area relax, the area is desensitized, blood flow to the area increases and the body’s own healing response is stimulated. 

Dry needling can

• improve healing 
• generate tissue healing
